Providing therapy, rehabilitation and recreation for children whose lives are affected by conflict
Breaking the cycle of violence in the children’ s lives through support for the new generation in peace building capacity was core to Elizabeth’s ethos for the charity. Learned behaviour is a major cause, children are not born violent, but become embroiled in the violent patterns of the adults who influence them.
Bullying and how to deal with it, was a primary issue that the children themselves raised. They stated clearly that violence from adults was merely an extreme form of bullying and that if bullying could be addressed at a young age perhaps children would not grow up to be adult bullies terrorising communities, or indeed countries.
